""You have been so respectful and supportive, not just to mum but to dad and myself. You have all worked so professionally and efficiently without failing to be warm and thoughtful and showing genuine care. Thank you.""

Bereavement Support

How you grieve will depend on several factors including your relationship with the person who has died, how they died, and your personality and feelings. The grieving process is not linear, there may be times when you are unable to function with your daily routine or feel caught in negative thought patterns.

“I don’t know how I should be feeling, I have no motivation, I just feel lost.”

In times like these, it may help to talk to someone about how you are feeling. This could be a friend, family member, GP or other healthcare provider, or a professional bereavement counsellor. Talking about your grief may help you find a different perspective or a deeper understanding of yourself and your situation.

How we can help

Our Bereavement Support is free of charge and accessible to adults bereaving the loss of an individual from a life-limiting illness. To access these services you must registered with a GP in Gloucestershire and be referred. Our drop-in sessions are our only sessions you can attend without being referred prior.

If you are unsure of your needs, get in touch and we can chat through the ways Longfield may be able to help you or your loved ones. We can talk over the phone or via video call to determine how best we can help, or if there is an alternative organisation that would better suit your needs. Our team is professional and friendly and will listen carefully to your needs before making any recommendations.
