"Meet Dan, a Guinness World Record-breaking cyclist."

Dan’s Story – a record-breaking cycle ride

Last summer, Dan from Tetbury set out on an epic adventure, cycling through eight countries in 24 hours. Starting in Italy, Dan cycled into Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, then onto France and Luxembourg before finishing his 350 mile quest in Belgium. “I was on the bike for 22 hours and 42 minutes,” says Dan. “There was no time to sleep!” The avid cyclist set a new world record for the number of countries cycled through in 12 hours (five), and equaled the record for countries cycled through in 24 hours (eight). This is Dan’s second fundraiser – to date, he’s raised over £5,000 for our hospice care
across Gloucestershire. “Three years ago, I didn’t know about Longfield,” he says. “Since then you’ve cared for my friend Fran and my sister in- law. The support you give local families is invaluable. This is my way of saying thank you.”
