A NEW choir is hoping to be set up to welcome people from every walk of life.
Longfield Hospice, a long-term fixture of Gloucestershire for 35 years, is seeking to draw together staff, volunteers, patients, carers, and local people across the community to be part of its brand-new choir.
The idea behind the multi-community choir is to bring together as many people as they can from all walks of life to be able to share the fun of being together.
Lena Pabreza-Robinson, from Longfield Hospice, said: “We are forming the choir to have fun, it’s not based on talent. We feel we are ideally based for people to come to share stories, to enjoy being together and to celebrate the world of music. We are not building a choir based on singing ability, but we want a choir to reflect how Longfield is part of the community. We are encouraging our staff, our volunteers, our supporters, our patients, their families but most of all the community that supports Longfield to come and join us.
I am excited by the idea of bringing voices together from across the county and hope many people will be interested. The choir will be a place where different people from different ages and abilities can sing with one voice and learn about each other’s stories.’’
Longfield are seeking members for the newly formed choir to help shape the choir.
