On 1st February 2024 Longfield Community Hospice opened a brand-new charity shop in Winchcombe for shoppers looking for a more budget-friendly and sustainable way to shop while supporting the local Hospice.
A new shop in the local community
The official opening of the shop was performed by Clare Davis, the hospice’s new CEO. Shop manager Lloyd Thomas and deputy manager Mark Shaw, their team of staff and volunteers were on hand to show customers around the store, which is packed with a great selection of quality second hand clothes, accessories, homeware, electricals, music and books.
Head of Retail at Longfield Laura Owen, said: “Opening a new store in Winchcombe is a really exciting development in our retail portfolio. This is a completely new location and area for us, and we are really looking forward to welcoming the community to our shop. There is something for everyone and I am sure shoppers will be delighted by the exceptional quality, value and range of goods we will be selling.”
“The funds raised from the shop will help ensure Longfield Hospice can be there when it matters for those in need of support for those with a life limiting illness.”
Help us to be there for more people
The new shop is also calling on the public to consider volunteering for the new Longfield shop. Volunteers can help with everything from sorting and preparing stock, to merchandising and sales in both this shop and across our 20 shops in the county. By supporting Longfield in any way, locals can help to provide more care to more people whilst meeting new people and creating new social circles in the local community.
