The new Winchcombe Longfield Community Hospice charity shop is set to open in the new year and will be home to preloved clothing, bric-a-brac, electricals and books.
We currently have 19 shops across Gloucestershire with the nearest shop currently at Bishop Cleeve, which stocks some furniture in addition to other preloved items.
The new shop, which was previously Daisychain charity shop in North Street, Winchcombe, is ideally situated for customers, and will now be the only charity shop in the town. The shop will officially open in the new year and it will be open Monday to Saturday from 9.15am until 5pm, and Sundays during the tourist seasons.
Laura Owen, Head of Retail said: “We’ve really tried to offer people a great shopping experience so that they can enjoy coming into the shop just like any other high street store. We wanted to move away from the typical charity-shop feel and create something new, whilst keeping the costs down for the customer. It was great to have a blank canvas to work on so we could create our vision for this new-look shop, and we hope the people of Winchcombe and surrounding area really like what we’ve done.”
We are also looking for people to volunteer to become part of our friendly and welcoming shop team in Winchcombe. Shop volunteers will develop retail skills, meet new people and help raise vital funds all at the same time. Find out more and here.
We need to raise £4.5 million annually to run our hospice services. See which one of our 19 shops is closest to you here.
