Move MORE

Many of us are well aware that our lives have become too sedentary, and we sit much more than we should, which can have an impact on our fitness and independence.

Our Move More Programme offers an opportunity to exercise in a safe and supportive environment. Our physiotherapist will discuss your situation and work out a programme to suit your individual needs, and interests. This might include:

  • A circuit of exercises to help improve your heart and lung fitness and maintain general muscle strength
  • A focus on balance, and strengthening key muscle groups
  • Practice of activities that you are starting to find more difficult, such as getting up from the floor

Sometimes getting more active can be more fun when we work with others. So where possible, and as Covid-measures allow, we will bring together people wishing to focus on similar things so that we can enjoy the social aspect and motivation of moving with others as well!

Keeping active has many benefits:

  • Reduces symptoms of fatigue
  • Improves mood and helps with stress and anxiety
  • Helps with health of lungs, heart and keeping muscles strong
  • Helps maintain a healthy weight
  • Improves sleep pattern
  • Helps us to continue doing the things that we want to do
