Make Your Donation Go Further
Did you know that you can help Longfield raise even more without spending an extra penny? By signing up for Gift Aid, you allow us to claim an extra 25p from the government for every £1 you donate. And if you’re donating items to our shops, we can claim 25% on the final selling price of each one.
It’s a simple way to increase the impact of your generosity and it doesn’t cost you anything.
Why Gift Aid Matters
Every year, Gift Aid helps Longfield turn donations into even more support for local people living with life-limiting conditions. That extra 25% really adds up enabling us to fund care in people’s homes, offer wellbeing support at our centre, and provide counselling for those going through loss.
For example, if you gave £100, we could claim an additional £25 through Gift Aid. That £25 could help towards:
- An hour of care from one of our Hospice at Home nurses
- A bereavement support session for someone who’s grieving
- A therapeutic group session for someone adjusting to a diagnosis
That’s the power of Gift Aid.
Who Can Sign Up?
You can Gift Aid your donations if:
- You are a UK taxpayer (income tax or capital gains tax)
- The donation (money or items) is your own
- You’ve paid enough tax in the year to cover the amount we’ll claim
Even if you’re retired, you may still be eligible if you pay tax on a pension or savings.
Higher rate taxpayers can also claim back the difference between the higher and basic tax rate on donations.
