Longfield Community Hospice launches new support groups for local people affected by life-limiting illness or bereavement
Longfield Community Hospice has launched two new support groups to provide friendship and practical support for individuals and families affected by a life-limiting condition or bereavement.
The groups are free of charge and take place at Longfield’s Living Well Centre in Minchinhampton, providing welcoming and informal spaces for people to meet up.
Talk Together Tuesdays
This weekly support group is for women under 65 who are living with a life-limiting condition. The group offers an opportunity to meet other women of a similar age, share experiences and enjoy conversation in a relaxed and supportive setting. There will also be monthly guest speakers, as well as practical support and opportunities to develop new friendships.
When: Every Tuesday, 6.00pm – 7.30pm
Where: Longfield Living Well Centre, Burleigh Lane, Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, GL5 2PQ
Family Group
This group is for families who are affected by a life-limiting condition or bereavement. It runs during the school holidays only and is an opportunity for the whole family to spend time together – including parents, carers, siblings, and grandparents. Come along to meet others in similar circumstances and take part in activities including crafts, games and nature-based activities. Sessions are designed to help families connect, have fun together and find support from others who may understand their experiences.
When: Thursdays during the school holidays. 10.00am – 12.00pm
Where: Longfield Living Well Service, Burleigh Lane, Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, GL5 2PQ
Upcoming dates: Thursday 29 October 2026, Tuesday 22 December 2026, Thursday 18 February 2027.
