At Longfield, we see people not patients. We see individuals with stories, experiences and passions that make them truly unique – as unique, in fact, as the hospice care we provide. Because who you are matters; and remembering people in their uniqueness matters too.
That’s why we’ve created a Remembrance Garden to display the hearts: a wonderful way to support Longfield and celebrate the people who hold a special place in our hearts.
We’re inviting you to create a plaque for our new garden in Minchinhampton: a space for calm and quiet reflection for all to enjoy.

Each plaque, created in partnership with Master Cobbler, a family business in Stroud, will be engraved with a message of your choice (up to 15 words), alongside a Longfield heart — symbolising our commitment to keeping people at the heart of everything we do, and ensuring their memory lives on.
Every Heart is a lasting tribute
Becca and Chris’s story
Becca and Chris moved home to care for their much-loved Dad, Trevor, in the final months of his life. “We had no training or life experience to equip us to support Dad – just hearts full of love,” says Becca. Chris describes the moment our Hospice at Home team arrived on their doorstep. “I remember Becca and I looking at each other and breathing a sigh of relief,” he says. “The carers were friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. Knowing we had Longfield by our side gave us the confidence to keep going.”
paul’s Story
Paul runs Master Cobbler Stroud and decided to partner with us for our Every Heart Appeal after the care he received for his father. “It’s my way of putting something back into the good work that they do.”
“Longfield brought in carers. Some of the carers stayed throughout the night, especially in Dad’s last few days. They were amazing at what they do. They were polite, they were kind and sometimes you didn’t even know they were there. It was just lovely. They couldn’t do enough for us.”

We invite you to consider these suggested donation levels, but please give whatever feels right for you and your loved one. A minimum donation of £25 will ensure no cost is incurred by Longfield.
